| Born in Washington, DC, Essley grew up in a middle class family in the SE sector of the city. Below are a few snapshots from her early years in the metro area - trips to the beach and photos in front of her rowhouse in DC. As you can see, Essley was a very vibrant woman. Whether it was looking sassy for the camera or clowning around, she is always the highlight of every photo. Not to mention, Essley was very cute and had the perfect figure for late 1920's and early 30's fashion - slim and statuesque. Great Aunt Essley always kept up with the latest styles and luckily loved to have her picture taken. |
