Beautiful lace applique details! A 1950's black satin cocktail dress with a dramatic scalloped shelf bust. Satin fabric appears to be a rayon. The neckline runs almost off-the-shoulders with cute cap sleeves. Inside both the neckline and sleeves there is a scalloped black lace backed with a sheer organza. The bodice is fitted in the bust ands waist, princess-style waistline and wide gored skirt. The lace and sheer cream organza is appliques on the skirt, two down the center, and one at each side. The back has a scoop and there is a large tuck at each side of the zipper on the skirt creating a slight bustle in the back. Metal zipper up the back. Dress is unlined. No labels found, but definitely professionally made. Photographed with an additional crinoline.

Condition: Some wear, nothing noticeable. The one problem is that the sheer organza backing of the interior lace bustline has breaks/rips. These are not visible on the outside, but it will need to be repaired. If time permits, we will repair this problem, but we are selling the dress as-is for now. Also, there is a long dart on each side of the bodice that has been removed and there are traces of the seam there - only noticeable on close inspection.
