Unique design 1950's Pat Sandler black satin and chiffon evening dress. Pat Sandler is great label popular in the 1950's and 60's that created sophisticated and well made evening wear, regularly implementing beading, satins and chiffons. The satin bodice has unique tailoring with a straight cut neckline with tucks at the sides and square cuts at the arm openings. The back dips with a dramatic V. Piping around the top and bottom of the cummerbund waistline. The chiffon skirt is finely gathered around the waist with slight flaring around the hem. Bodice is lined with a black organza fabric and there is a black rayon crepe underskirt. Label reads, "Pat Sandler for Highlight." [Dress is photographed with a crinoline to show skirt]
Condition: Dress has been steamed and thoroughly examined for any flaws, inside and out. No holes, rips, stains, smells or loose seams. Dress is clean and well cared for. Chiffon has no wear, wonderful condition. On close inspection and not noticeable: there are two very tiny scuffs on the satin, one near the zipper and one on the cummerbund side; a small slight blotch on the right side of the cummerbund; slight shine along the front neckline; a small pull on left lapel where there may have been a pin or corsage; the back zipper seam was adjusted (let out) and the zipper is a little off-center. A gorgeous and dramatic dress!
