1940's Bonwit Teller dancer print black silk crepe dress with an unique hip swag. The dancer is white with yellow highlights. The bodice has a square neckline with defined shoulder pads. Nice tailoring along the neckline of the dress. The skirt has the swag on the left hip with a ruffle-type appliqued piece where the swag drapes, please see close-ups. Label reads, "Bonwit Teller, Fifth Avenue, New York." Side metal zipper opening. The dress comes with the original belt which is backed in leather.
Condition: Excellent. Looks hardly worn, fabric is still crisp like new, well cared for. On close inspection, found one small pull on the back skirt, no other flaws found. The bottom hem has been lined with acetate fabric that does not look original and can be easily removed. Dress has been steamed, spot cleaned and is ready to wear.
