1920's light brown wool dropped waist day dress with dark
brown silk details and beautiful embroidery. The wool fabric
is lightweight and soft. The bodice collar is covered with
brown silk with a pointed flap collar below made of the embroidered
wool fabric. Up the front of the bodice are twenty-six wonderful
gold and green painted auburn colored beads made to look like
settings with jewels. Brown corded loops attach each button
up along the collar as decoration. Fine darting along the
shoulders. The sleeves and waistline have the brown silk lines
which rise and fall in points. Cuffed sleeves with fine gathers,
silk trim and a silk bow. Sleeves snap closures. The plant
embroidery on the skirt is detailed and sewn with several
different hues of brown. Skirt has wide side pleats coming
around the left in front and around the right in back. Condition:
Excellent. Silk is strong and the item is wearable. A couple
tiny areas of wear, mainly pin-sized, but nothing noticeable.
An exceptional example of 1920's clothing. $295 |
