Gorgeous 1950's high end designer label Modern Couture brown and white flowered rayon faille strapless dress and bolero jacket. One of the top designers at Modern Couture in the 1950's was Helena Barbieri, known for her finely embellished formal wear. The bodice is cut straight across, speckled with clear iridescent sequins and a brown silk trim under the bust. Gored full skirt. Matching belt. The bolero jacket has a unique cut, almost off-the-shoulder with a draped tailoring curving around the bust. Button closure under the bust and a brown silk trimmed scalloped hem. 3/4 length sleeves. Photographed with a crinoline to show the skirt.

Condition: Dress is excellent. Jacket has very slight underarm discoloration, but not noticeable due to busy print. The buttons have been replaced on the jacket, but will include the original two buttons (1 is missing unfortunately).
