Gorgeous De Pinna, Young Moderns ruched bodice 1950's silk taffeta finely made evening gown. De Pinna was an upscale NYC Fifth Avenue shop that produced finely tailored mens and womens clothing. The bodice has many layers of delicately folded fabric following the curve of the bustline and overlapping at the center bust. Ruching across the waist in the front. A gathering of fabric with three tucks on each side of the skirt creating a dramatic bustle effect. Back of bodice has a curved pieces running down from each side and a large tuck at the back of the skirt creating a slight bustle of fabric. Metal zipper up the back.

Condition: good-very good. The dress is slightly musty, has not been dry cleaned. There are whitish marks at the underarms, this may come out with a dry cleaning. Some pulling of seams in spots. Sides of the bodice have been widened with a piece of fabric inserted on each side, but can be removed. There are short ties at the sides, came pinned together with a broach, but do not look original to the dress (probably added when the sides were adjusted). Still an amazing high end gown. Small size.
