The most amazing 1940's designer rayon dress. Wow. This dress is in mint vintage condition. The fabric is a silk rayon, with theater masks, bows, and ribbons intertwined in pinks, blues, greens and yellows on a black background. This dress is very complicated. The bodice is a v-neck with bias cut ruching on the sides of the chest. There is a sheer trim of black organza around the neckline, front and back. Pictures from the dress were cut out, edged and sewn in designs along this sheer trim (see Close-ups). Really stunning. Sleeves have a slight puff, inward sloping shoulderpads. The skirt is bias cut. The next awesome part of this dress is the belt peplum. The peplum is removable, as you see in the 'with' and 'without' pictures. The peplum has pleated rings of fabric on each hip, back is two flat flaps. Next is the 3 inches of black net trim along the skirt hem. Again, the designer took pieces of the fabric, edged these tiny pieces, and sewed them along the netting as decoration. Hattie Carnegie tag and imprint on belt. I wish this fit me, but alas it is too big. You will be very happy with this dress.

Beautiful 1930's white satin evening dress. Bias cut with typical 30's ruffled sleeves. Three layered ruffle sleeves. Four layered ruffle hem cut at angle. Each ruffle is attatched to a layer of netting to give it a drapey bounce (see picture). Has a V bias at waist and another bias below chest. Pin-holes on bodice where there was once a corsage. Could coverup with a flower or sew an on applique in that area. There are stress spots under the arms, but not very visible because of the ruffle sleeves. A professional dry cleaning would probably help re-new the fabric. Comes with a sash - tie around the waist or use as a scarf. Such a gorgeous dress, classic 1930's style.

1930's pink crepe and satin striped bias cut evening dress. Dress is a little big for my mannequin. Fabric is a stretchy crepe type feel and striped with a satin thread. A dark pink/fushia color. Bodice boasts a plunging v-neck with numerous pleats and tucks. Three rhinestone inlade x-shaped embellishments down front of bodice (a lot ofrhinestones). Dress is fitted at waist with typical 30's belt. Two angled cuts in skirt creating flounces in back of dress. The flounces are cut at a sloping angle, one being twice as high as the other, very nice tailoring. Two hook and eye at neck in back. Side snaps and belt loops. Historic example shows a similarly styled dress from an early thirties pattern. Very good vintage condition - no holes, stains, snags, etc...Really stunning.

Late 1930's early 40's movie star style full length dress. Fabric is a drapey black crepe with rhinestone embellished thick lace around the neckline and on the front as pockets. Historic example shows a similarly styled dress from a late 30's pattern. The dropped waist front pockets were very much the rage. Fitted at hips and flowing out as moves down. Bodice is tight fitted with ruching at sides. Four fabric covered buttons up the front, faux closures. Pleated and puffed short sleeves, plunged v-neck with a few snap closures. Metal zipper at side. Very stunning evening dress - no problems, excellent condition.
